Let’s be honest: bookkeeping probably isn’t the reason you started your business.
You started because you had something you wanted to build, a skill you wanted to share, or a problem you knew how to solve. Somewhere along the way, though, the invoices, expenses, reconciliations, and receipts showed up—and suddenly you’re running a business and trying to keep up with the books.
That’s where I come in.
Hound & Heart Bookkeeping is here to take some of that off your plate. I work with small businesses that need someone they can trust to keep their books organized, accurate, and up to date without making things more complicated than they need to be.
I’m a bit of a bookkeeping nerd (and I mean that as a compliment). I actually enjoy the details, the problem-solving, and the satisfying moment when everything finally balances. You get to spend more time doing what you’re good at, and I get to do what I’m good at. Seems like a pretty good arrangement to me.
The name is personal.
Dogs have been a huge part of my life for years, and Hound & Heart is a tribute to two very special ones: George and Sophie. They both left their paw prints on my heart in very different ways, and I wanted to carry a little piece of them with me into something new.
The “heart” part is also a pretty good reminder of why small businesses matter. Behind every set of books is a person who put their time, energy, money, and probably a whole lot of heart into building something of their own.
So I'll take your numbers seriously. I’ll probably get unnecessarily excited about a clean reconciliation. And I’ll do my best to make your bookkeeping one less thing you have to worry about.
